About this Event

PROBLEMS THAT ARE WE TRYING TO SOLVE:

Today, over 63 million youths are without a job globally and over 141 million youth are working, yet living in poverty.

Today, 60% of all those unemployed in Africa are youths. In South Africa, more than 55% of young people are unemployed.

THE DISCUSSION OF THE FORUM:

SGD 8. Decent Work and Economic Growth

-By 2020, substantially reduce the proportion of youth not in employment, education or training

-Protect labour rights and promote safe and secure working environments for all workers, including migrant workers, in particular women migrants, and those in precarious employment

–> Promote skill building for youth employment

–> Protect labour rights and promote safe and secure working environments.

OUTPUT EXPECTED TO SEE IN THE DELEGATES:

1. Understand the importance to develop soft skills and ways to becoming global citizens.

2. Activate entrepreneurship attitude in the delegates, showing that open a start up is something possible

3. Be aware about the labour rights and be an ambassador to change the current situation
