Call for Volunteers

Volunteers are the backbone of Smart Kids Zone: Volunteer Instructors work with different age groups and skill sets, sharing their love of teaching as well as their career experience and directly impacting the lives of our students. As a volunteer, there are several ways you can help facilitate learning and spread the word about our organization. Please follow the guidance below if you’re interested in volunteering with us!

The Basics

• 12 weeks minimum commitment
• 6 hours per week
• Around 15 children aged 4- 13 in a class
• Age 20-26
• No previous knowledge of coding needed
• Help children use Codes to create projects such as games, animations and websites

To volunteer at Smart Kids Zone you need to

• Be available for up to 6 hour a week to help with a Coding session
• Commit to volunteering for at least one school term (12 weeks)
• Have time to prepare for the Coding class session. This may include organizing, printing resources and completing the project you will be doing with the children in advance
• Be confident with computers. You don’t have to be a coding genius, most courses start with simple programs like Scratch, but you need to be willing to learn
• Must be adherent to company/organizational policies and standards.

Please note: Stipend will be provided to cover expenses for our volunteers.

Fridays: 4-6pm

Saturdays: 11am -2pm

Holiday camps: 8:00am- 4pm comes with extra incentives

Smart Kids Zone is the first Action Based Learning Center in Africa, conceptualized to prepare
young people for the challenges of the 21st century and getting them innovation ready by
providing fun-filled energetic environment for kids where technology, physical fitness and
entrepreneurship education intersect. We provide academic and recreational programs for
children between the ages of 4-13 years by integrating physical activity and movement in our
instructions during classes, this gets them physically and mentally smarter and innovation
